20 Minutes to Create: A Doodling Practice to Make Space
20 minutes can be a starting point, or the whole practice. Remember, your brain loves certainty (and a timer ⏱️).
To create what? Space. In your mind, your heart, your life!
Set your timer and get comfy. Grab an iced coffee or tea, a sketchbook, piece of printer paper, an old envelope, or scratch pad — it's up to you. Center yourself with a few intentional breaths.
This practice can be simple or intricate — your call. Once you're settled and ready, doodle. That's it, that's the practice. Doodle, free-form, scribble. Put your pen to paper and let it go. If you can refrain from lifting the pen, even better. Allow your intuition to lead the way. Let your need for productivity, perfection, or creating a masterpiece go. Let the design, or non-design, be what it needs to be. When the timer is up, stand up, and shake and move your body for 30–60 seconds.
20 minutes won't change your life…until it does.
